3D Laser Scanning Microscopy

Surface roughness measurement and topographical rendering by generating high resolution providing data on surface texture, including depth, height, and volume of surface features.

  1. Surface Inspection of Microchips: To ensures that that microchips and semiconductor wafers have smooth and defect-free surfaces. Surface roughness of tiny components such as transistors, capacitors, and connectors, where surface texture can be detrimental to electrical performance. 
  2. Tool and Die Manufacturing: To evaluate the surface finish of molds, dies, and cutting tools to extend their lifespan and ensure consistent production quality. 

Optical Profilometry

Optical profilometry is a non-contact method that uses light, typically lasers, to scan and analyze the surface and by  reflecting light off the surface and measuring its intensity, a detailed profile of the surface roughness is created

  1. Medical Device Manufacturing : To test medical implant devices to ensure that surgical tools have a smooth finish, surface roughness of medical implants, dental implants and joint replacements, to promote proper integration with human tissue and reduce the risk of complications. 
  2. Automotive Industry : To check the surfaces coating adhesion testing of engine parts, such as pistons and cylinders, are smooth and within specification to reduce wear and improve engine efficiency.
